So, it’s Monday and you should be excited today, right?

Behaviour_DesignDon’t be one of those people that say, “UGH…it’s Monday again! I wish it was still the weekend.”

Today’s the day you get to create how your week will end up and how you can FINISH STRONG before the weekend. Picture it’s Friday today, looking back on the week and saying, “DANG! I did all that? Wow, that was an AWESOME week! I can’t believe I did so much!”

Well, you can. I combined what I learned from a Robert Kiyosaki event (where they taught us the same method it took to get to the moon) and Tony Robbins RPM time management system to get the MOST out of my weeks. Try this…

Just write down what you want to accomplish by Friday (outcomes) and work backwards. The power comes from striving for OUTCOMES rather than just knocking out “things on your to-do list” everyday.

Then, imagine and feel how you would feel on Friday from this weeks accomplishments. It’s very important you get yourself to FEEL the way you would on Friday. Fuel your body with energy to give you a boost for the ups and downs that WILL happen this week (it’s just life, get over it)…but, doing this will definitely help ride the roller coaster.

Once you have a desired OUTCOME for your Friday and how you want to feel that day, look back to the previous event which helped get to your outcome (or end result) and ask yourself, “what happened before that?” Picture the step that happens before the desired outcome. Do this for all the steps until you reach the starting point. Once this is done, put the steps into your calendar and SCHEDULE IT! Tony Robbins says that it doesn’t become real until you schedule it!

Now you have a road map of what has to get done for the week and when you have time to do them. You already know how great it would feel on Friday because you’ve already placed yourself there, accomplishing all that you wanted done. Now it’s just time to get to work!

You won’t live in a reaction mode because now you’re being proactive towards what you want out of life every week and there’s a set schedule to get it all done. If it seems overwhelming to accomplish it all, try to find areas where you can leverage your steps, like seeking others to help get those steps done (your brain will find ways to make it happen).

Boom! Now you’re the one in charge to making your Friday a “Happy Friday” or a “Thank God It’s Friday.” …your choice.

You can also do this for any long-term goals. Start from the end before you begin!

Go Get ‘Em and have the Best Week Ever! HAPPY MONDAY Y’ALL!

- Yours truly

Just great! Big thanks to you Larry for sharing this and boosting my mood. Awesome and inspiring indeed! I am pretty sure a lot can relate to that “Monday blues” but with this post, things can change. Well, it’s just a matter of setting a goal, huh? And as much as you know your priorities, you should also be able to determine and be knowledgeable on how to accomplish them. Foresee what you want to happen and focus on making it real.

Thanks Joanne. It’s more than setting a goal.

Imagination is very powerful and you can use the same techniques as little children do. There’s actual studies done on children to utilize “guided imagery” to help ease the discomfort of children with undiagnosed stomach pain because they felt they had “more fertile imaginations.”

I use this strategy constantly whether it’s for producing anticipated outcomes for goals in business or using it to just make me feel better about things that aren’t going my way. By visualizing how I would feel my mind gets focused on going for that ultimate emotion and it seems like I’m just shooting for that feeling…which results in achieving my desired outcomes. Sometimes it’s instant because I just want to change my mood that moment and sometimes it takes multiple “visualizations” or “imaginations” to stay on track for those long-term goals.

All-n-all the technique is a great one to have in your toolbox.

Oh yes, IMAGINATION! I could agree more with you into that Larry! I do use that technique too and it really works on me. And that reminds me also of the movie Gifted Hands, Dr. Ben Carson story… “We are all capable of performing miracles. The brain is the greatest source of inspiration and imagination. We just have to see beyond what we can see.”
